This is a great promotion for people who use their Membership Rewards points on their purchases. They can go further!
Membership Rewards points can also be transferred to hotel programs (Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton) or airline programs (Aeroplan, Flying Blue, British Airways Executive Club, etc). But if you have no interest in transferring them, then this promotion may be of use to you (but this 30% promotion does not count for points transfers!).
